cookie dietThe cookie diet refers to a special low-calorie diet based on a hunger-controlling meal replacement in the form of a cookie. There are a number of cookie diets currently on the market, such as: All require 4 to 6 cookies per day, sometimes in addition to other food, such as one meal of six ounces of meat in the case of the Siegal diet.

The Hollywood Cookie Diet instructs dieters to eat four (4) cookies per day in place of breakfast and lunch and to eat a dinner consisting of no more than 900 calories. Their website provides recipes for the dinner meal, or suggests fat-free soups, salads with fat-free dressings, fruits and raw vegetables as easy no-cook substitutes. Their cookies are available in chocolate chip, lemon, oatmeal raisin and cranberry orange.

Smart For Life offers two programs: the at-home program called "Smart For Life Eat Cookies. Lose Weight. It’s that Simple" and the medical program at their centers with doctor supervision. With the cookie diet you consume 6 cookies a day and a sensible dinner, usually 6-12 ounces of protein with greens. Each cookie contains the necessary amino acids, fiber, and vitamins for appetite suppression and reducing hunger and cravings. Their cookies are available in chocolate chip, blueberry and oatmeal raisin.

Dr. Siegal, a South Florida weight loss physician and author, developed a proprietary mixture of amino acids and baked them into a cookie to control his patients' hunger. Dieters consume six cookies (approximately 500 calories) during the day to control hunger, and a reasonable dinner (300 calories) in the evening. Dr. Siegal's cookies are available in five flavors: oatmeal raisin, chocolate, blueberry, banana and coconut.

The R&D Diet Cookie plan is low-calorie plan and the cookies contain protein and fiber intended to help curb the appetite. The plan calls for 2 cookies with a low calorie drink (coffee, tea or diet soda) in the morning and to repeat this every hour or two throughout the day to keep yourself from getting hungry. Dinner in the early evening consists of a 400 calorie meal, usually 6-8 ounces of lean protein, steamed vegetables, salad, diet pudding or fruit. Cookie flavors are raisin oatmeal, chocolate, peanut butter, gingerbread, very berry with cranberry, apricot-orange and coconut.
